This has been a busy summer. All the Artists have been teaching and demonstrating and traveling. Tole Country in Oklahoma City, Sept. 22-24 is our last show for the year. We hope you all come and see us. The next time we go on the road will be Creative Painting in Las Vegas next Feb. Happy painting in the fall and the Holiday Season.
Water Water everywhere!
If you have seen the news you know we received up to 10 inches of rain in the Oklahoma City metro area yesterday. Lots of rain and the back yard flooded and decided it liked the living room. Of course, my husband was out of state and I was ankle deep in water on the patio. I got the sunk pump going and a hose out the gate down the side of the house. Within a couple of hours the water was going down. My Dad came with his carpet cleaner and it did the trick. We dumped about 25 gallons of water from the carpet and then pulled the carpet up and now we have fans running. Starting to dry now. Sure glad Houston isn’t until July. My living room is a mess. But, what is a little fun on any given Monday. All is well and no one died in all this water, in OKC.
SDP Convention
If you were not able to make it Wichita for the SDP Conference, please mark your calendar next year. What a wonderful place. Everything was close and the Expo floor was spacious and food was good. Prices weren’t bad either.
Wednesday evening was the Expo opening and what fun it was. Priscilla was in true form with her painting fun. One of the Convention Center Security guards was her canvas and of course a rose was ordered. Check out the photos.
Maureen McNaughton was demoing for everyone one Wednesday and Thursday. Also, Cindy Forsythe MDA and Linda McDonald did demos the rest of the week and Doxie wore her new painted shirt designs all week.
The Turtle Hollow Artists will be traveling to Houston on July 21 so don’t miss us there.
You won’t believe what I did.
For those of you who really know me, this will be hard to believe. I participated in a Pub Crawl. Crawl for Cure Brain Cancer Research. My daughter, Cara, (the nurse in Boston) organized the team. The other two daughters with their guys and of course my husband were also there as well as friends. There were 50 teams of 12. Every team had a different color team shirt and we went from pub to pub for four hours in downtown, OKC. What fun we had. I had the most fun watching all the teams with their cups of beer and all the laughing. You don’t have to drink to have a great time. At least I don’t.
